You Need Coolin', Baby, I'm Not Foolin'

Pop quiz: do you know the song title? the artist? can you sing the rest of the lyrics? I know some of you Zep Heads out there do. But many of you may not. Don't you hate that? I know I do. What's that? Oh, you want to know the rest of the lyrics? Thought you'd never ask. Head on over to a new site I just discovered called LyricWiki to look them up (I've got this linked directly to the song lyrics... you're welcome :) ).

Of course there are many song lyrics sites out there, so what is so special about LyricWiki.org? There is a lot to be said about what it is not. It is not ugly. It is not flashy. It is not riddled with bad, poorly written Javascripts and pop-ups that eat resources and crash your system. It is not covered with banner ads for pornography sites. Take a deep breath. Ok, let it out. Ah. Isn't that nice. I can actually relax and not worry about my wife or children walking in the room while I'm searching for lyrics on this site.

Kids Say The Darndest Things

"Oh, and guess what your son said at school today?"

That can't be good. This has been an odd week at the Franzone house. Our children attend a private Christian academy here in Pensacola, FL and my wife on very rare occasion will substitute teach. I say very rare because we have a baby at home and I work. So if my wife is working... you got it; I'm watching the baby. Well, for some very unusual circumstances my wife has been teaching for almost a week now. :|

I digress. So I take my eleven month old daughter outside for a bit today to walk around and try to keep her awake a little longer before her afternoon nap. Well it starts raining a little so we jump into the truck. Why didn't we just go into the house you ask? Well... I don't know! Stop asking. Anyway, I look over and there was my cell phone which I had misplaced and not even known it. And oh what timing, because it was just ringing at that very moment. What luck! After talking to mommy for a bit we arrive at the question which began this blog entry.

Product Review: Nike + iPod Sport Kit

So I saved the best for last. You can now plainly see why I made some of my previous choices in the product lineup. Some of them… no pretty much all of them were selected to match this particular item: the Nike + iPod Sport Kit. Of course the headphones will really go with any MP3 player, but that’s another story.

Previously reviewed products:

Can I say just one thing about this thing… awesome! Man, I love this thing. It makes running a joy. This little gem is the whole reason that I purchased the iPod nano and all of this other gear and it was all well worth it. So that is my overall opinion.

Stop Short

Any Seinfeld fans out there? Well, I loved the show… actually I still love the show. Do you remember the show (Season 6 Episode 21 - The Fusilli Jerry) where George’s parents separate and Kramer is driving Estelle home from having her eye surgery and performs the “stop short” maneuver after hitting a pothole? I love that one!

No, that doesn’t have anything to do with running. The title just reminded me of my run today. I’ve been doing a four mile run for two weeks now and today it was only about three and three quarters of a mile. I just couldn’t make it; I had to stop short. I don’t know what’s going on. If you take a look at my log you’ll see that I’ve been waning in my frequency of running. I can also feel a decrease in my strength and endurance during my run. Perhaps I need to drop back down to a shorter distance and work on some cardiovascular training a bit. Then I can bump it back up to the longer distance again. I’ll try and do some research tonight and see what turns up.

Gone Fishin'

5:00 AM Saturday morning the alarm clock goes off. My hand starts instinctively slapping at buttons, “Make it stop! Make it stop!” Just as I start to drift back into the depths of some remote dreamworld I am once again disturbed, only this time my brain is wondering, “What is that noise!?… Oh yeah. Geez. I must be out of my damn mind.” This time I’m awake enough to remember that I’ve agreed to go fishing with my dad today. Great.

I stumble out of bed, get dressed and get the all important coffee brewing. After that I have a couple bowls of Frosted Flakes (Public, NYSE:K) and my first cup of coffee. The baby wakes up during this time so I get to change her diaper and love on her a bit. I then take her to her mother and kiss them both goodbye. I fix a large coffee in a to-go cup and look out the window just in time to see my dad pull up.
